IOSH Health & Safety Training

Cons

Courses overview

With a desire to raise standards of safety across all industries IOSH has created a series of professional "off the shelf" training courses standard in it latest version of Managing Safely, IOSH Working Safely & Management of Occupational Health & Wellbeing.

These courses can be found in either a face to face or online diatnce learning format. All of the tutors we use across the UK are members of the IOSH organisation.

They are specialist qualifications for people in the safety industry who are responsible for ensuring safety as part of their day to day duties. They are also for managers, supervisors, employee representatives and newly appointed health and safety advisers.

What are the benefits for the organisation and the individual?

For the individual it will give them a level of qualification that is internationally recognised as the standard for employment as a health and safety assistant/manager and for the employer it will show their staff have a level of qualification that will be acceptable to their awarding authorities.

What should I look for

There are differing lengths and standards, see below for the main courses offered. You may want something more specialised geared to your work sector, please get in touch we can help.

  • IOSH Managing Safely Classroom (4 days, with another day in own workplace)
  • IOSH Managing Safely Refresher Classroom (1 day, with another day in own workplace)

  • IOSH Managing Safely Refresher Online (half day, with another day in own workplace)
  • IOSH Working Safely Classroom (1 day)

  • How are the courses assessed?

Assessment depends on how you choose to study.

If you study in the classroom there is an end-of-course assessment made up of 30 multi-format questions. There’s also a work-based risk assessment task to be completed within two weeks of the end of the course. This essentially forms the fifth day but is not tutor led. Full instructions and resources are given on the fourth day.

If you study online, the course, assessment and risk assessment task must be completed within five months of registration.

Extensive Range of IOSH Training Courses Available

In brief, our general health, safety and wellbeing courses range from general industrial programmes, to office environments (including working from home), to Construction safety courses.
